Baby, it’s cold outside

When the cold weather sets in there is nothing more inviting than a warm cup of hot cocoa and a crackling fire. Today’s blog post is dedicated to all you romantics who enjoy snuggling up next to your loved one and letting time slip between your fingers.

Nothing says warmth and romance more than a winter wedding. Every year we spend our holidays designing weddings with a winter scape. As with any design, I usually begin with an inspiration. The wedding I am currently working on began with just this photo.

Winter wonderland weddingReminiscent of the royal wedding of 2011, this church was decorated with an aisle lined with all white curly willow. The branches were secured to the pew ends to give the effect of snow-kissed trees illuminating the way for the bride to her groom.

Winter weddings work best when elements of the outdoors are brought inside and transformed into a magical wonderland.

From this picture, I am planning the centerpieces which will entail crystals, candles, branches and lush bouquets of all white flowers.

The head table will showcase a line of all white vases filled with tufts of babies breath and linked with pearl beads. The babies breath is reminiscent of large, beautiful balls of snow! The other tables will alternate arrangements with large branches dripping with crystals as well as candlestick groupings to being in the soft, romantic glow of winter.

My idea for the bouquets includes tufts of all white blossoms including cymbidium orchids, spray roses and garden roses with crystal embellishments on the handle.

The Bridesmaids will showcase all white blossoms against black dresses with a simple version of the bridal bouquet.

As you can see, a lush, winter dream wedding is only a wish away.
